Update – 19 September 2023

Latest news on Newcombe House tenants and works that are scheduled to take place at the site.

Remaining tenants at Newcombe House

As explained in our July update, steps have been taken to secure the vacant possession of the remaining occupied units on Kensington Church Street. We have worked with the tenants involved to allow them sufficient time to relocate and move their equipment and fixtures.

We expect all tenants to have vacated by the end of October, the last being Waterstones.

Internal strip out of vacated units

Passers-by may notice that contractors will be working inside the vacated Kensington Church Street units and soft strip out is underway, which means the removal of any movable fixtures and fittings. Removal will take place in as considerate fashion as possible. These are preparatory works scheduled until the end of 2023 and in advance of the eventual planned demolition should planning approval be granted. The working hours are 0800 to 1800 on weekdays only.

Ground investigation works will be taking place here during September and October 2023 involving the excavation of two trial pits in the vicinity of the wall which forms the boundary with the London Underground. There will also be a bore hole. Nearby residents are likely to experience some noise, but steps will be taken to limit this as much as possible and works will take place between the hours of 0900 and 1700 on weekdays only. Guidance from the Council on reducing impacts on neighbours will also be followed.
